Meet Laquesha Stackhouse
Founder & OPWDD Authorized Support Broker
A Broker Who's Been in the Room
I am the founder of The Broker Queen and an OPWDD Authorized Support Broker dedicated to helping individuals with developmental disabilities and their families confidently navigate Self-Direction throughout New York State.
I am based in Syracuse, New York, and proudly serve individuals and families throughout New York State.
My experience extends beyond brokerage. Before becoming an Independent Support Broker, I worked directly with individuals and families in several professional roles, giving me firsthand knowledge of the challenges they face and the importance of person-centered planning.
Educate. Empower. Advocate.
My mission is to educate, empower, and advocate so families understand their options, make informed decisions, and build supports that reflect each individual's goals, strengths, and vision for the future.
"Every individual deserves to be heard, respected, and supported in living the life they choose."
The Values Behind Every Plan
Person-Centered, Always
Every plan starts with the individual — their voice, their goals, their vision. I build supports that reflect who they are, not just what the system offers.
Education as Empowerment
I believe families who understand the system make better decisions. I take the time to explain every step so you're never left guessing.
Compassionate Advocacy
I stand beside every family I serve as a true advocate — helping you communicate with OPWDD, navigate transitions, and fight for the supports you deserve.
Community Roots
With deep ties to Central New York and a statewide network, I connect families to the local resources, providers, and community supports that make a real difference.
